MILLER & SMITH EMPLOYEES “GIVE BACK” TO THEIR COMMUNITY DURING COMPANYWIDE FOOD DRIVE

Northern Virginia Family Service (NVFS) is a private, nonprofit community service organization dedicated to helping individuals and families find new paths to self-reliance and brighter futures. NVFS works to improve the lives of their clients through a variety of programs in five mission initiatives: safe & stable housing, child & family enrichment, health access, emergency assistance and workforce development.

Each year, NVFS’s OPERATION TURKEY provides Thanksgiving meals to more than 800 families who would not otherwise have a family meal celebration.

“Focus on Excellence” was the theme of the Best of NAIOP Northern Virginia Awards held Thursday, November 20, 2013 at The Ritz-Carlton, Tysons Corner. The event was sold out with over seven hundred people in attendance as twenty-eight awards were presented in the following categories: Transactions, Interiors, Marketing, Buildings and Membership. DOWNTOWN ONE LOUDOUN ANNOUNCES THE FRESH MARKET IS NOW OPEN

November 6, 2013, Ashburn, Virginia – One Loudoun Downtown, LLC, a joint venture of Miller and Smith and NORTH AMERICA SEKISUI HOUSE, LLC (NASH) announces today The Fresh Market is now open at One Loudoun in Loudoun County, Virginia. The new 23,800 square-foot, specialty grocery store opened its doors to thousands of shoppers eager to discover the grocer’s unparalleled product selection. Store representatives and local officials marked the occasion with an official “Crack the Parmesan” ceremony, followed by chef demonstrations, food sampling, and gift card giveaways.

“We welcome The Fresh Market and its more than 90 employees to the Downtown One Loudoun community,” said Bill May, Vice President of Miller and Smith. “It is exciting to add more fresh food options for local residents and expand the amenities of Downtown One Loudoun. We invite everyone to stop by, shop and enjoy.”

The new store houses culinary delights, including a bakery that produces 30 freshly baked breads and 14 different pie varieties daily, a full service meat counter with freshly ground beef, a wide selection of ready-to-serve entrées, fresh seafood delivered to the store several times per week, and more than 200 imported and domestic cheeses, as well as a bountiful produce department with more than 400 items and a large organic selection.

The Fresh Market is committed to the communities where it does business. The new store is partnering with the food pantry at Reston Bible Church in Sterling and Messiah’s Market to provide regular donations of food.
