AT 2019 GALA AWARDS
President, Doug Smith, Surprised with Lifetime Achievement Award
McLean, VA, (October 11, 2019) — Miller & Smith, the Washington region’s most award-winning homebuilder and real estate developer is thrilled to announce its success at the 2019 Great American Living Awards (GALA) Ceremony held Thursday, October 11, 2019 in Tysons, Va.
During the GALA ceremony, Doug Smith, president of Miller & Smith, was surprised with first-of-its-kind Lifetime Achievement Award and recognized for his nearly 30 years of service to the homebuilder industry. Organizers and judges of the prestigious residential home competition resorted to secrecy with the Lifetime Achievement Award as they were convinced Smith would decline acceptance and humbly deflect credit to those he deemed more deserving.

The Great American Living Awards (GALA) celebrates excellence in new home architecture, interior design and sales and marketing. The ceremony is presented annually by the Washington Metropolitan Sales & Marketing Council (WMSMC), the Northern Virginia Building Industry Association (NVBIA), and the Maryland National Capital Building Industry Association (MNCBIA).
